Houston police are investigating the uncovering of a undisclosed amount of checks and cash during a plumbing repair at Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church last month, according to a statement released by the church.
A plumber told KPRC 2 he found money on Nov. 10 in about 3,000 envelopes stashed behind tile and insulation during a toilet repair at the megachurch.
Lakewood said in the release Thursday that police were notified after the church was made aware of the discovery.
