PONTOTOC, Miss — Magnolia Upholstery Designs is expanding to private-label upholstered products for furniture retailers. Since purchasing the company in February 2021, company owners doubled its facilities to 140,000 square feet and bought 12 acres in Pontotoc, Miss., to facilitate future growth.
“Well before the recent April High Point show, we received a large number of requests from major vendors looking for a reliable source of private-labeled upholstery products made in the USA,” said Hector Mustafa, president of Magnolia Upholstery Designs.
“In order to service these new customers while maintaining our current average of four-to-six-week shipping time on new orders to our present retail clients, we decided to make changes to the way we do business here at Magnolia Upholstery Designs,” he said.
The company did not show at April’s High Point Market in order to focus efforts and funds on the additional sales channels.
For now, Magnolia is focusing production on nine stationary frame styles with its Amish-made product line.
“It’s a program our retail customers are drawn to and is an integral part of Magnolia Upholstery Designs’ good, better, best merchandising strategy,” said Mustafa, adding, “We will be back in High Point soon, but for now, we are welcoming retailers and buying groups to our Tupelo, Miss., showroom to work out customized programs and maintain ongoing relationships.”
